The collar is built in two segments. Its flat in front for greater comfort and better fit, and constructed in back as part of the garments spine and support structure. They also went with their triple ramp pocket design both for how durable it is and for how well the pockets can be stuffed. Silicone beads are on the rear hem helping lock it to your shorts as insurance against riding up and bouncing.
